The men's 400m freestyle final, which was first held, attracted much attention because of the same competition between "veteran" Sun Yang and "new star" Pan Zhanle. In this game, Pan Zhanle won the championship with a time of 3 minutes, 45 seconds, 34, and set a new personal best. After the game, Pan Zhanle said: "I am under a lot of pressure in this game. They are all very strong opponents on the side, but I think the results are not very good compared to the world's leading players, so I still have to continue working hard."
