CCTV news: The spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce responded to reporters’ questions on Chinese companies listed in the EU’s 19th round of sanctions against Russia.

Q: On October 23, the EU announced that it would list Chinese companies in the 19th round of sanctions against Russia and sanction China's large refineries and oil traders for the first time. What is China's comment on this?

A: The EU ignored China’s repeated representations and dissuasion and went its own way. It once again listed Chinese companies in the 19th round of sanctions against Russia and sanctioned China’s large refineries and oil traders for the first time. China is strongly dissatisfied and firmly opposed to this.

China has always opposed unilateral sanctions that have no basis in international law and are not authorized by the United Nations. The European side's actions are contrary to the spirit of the consensus reached by the leaders of China and Europe, seriously undermine the overall economic and trade cooperation between China and Europe, and impact global energy security. China urges the EU to immediately stop listing Chinese companies and not to go further down the wrong path. China will take necessary measures to resolutely safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises and resolutely safeguard its own energy security and economic development.
